Within easy access of Bordeaux and Bergerac airports, the house where you will be staying is on the outskirts of the village of Budos in the South Gironde Region. It is ideal for discovering the vineyards of the Sauternes, Entre Deux Mers and Graves wine areas, and even if you don’t choose our Wine Tasting Option, various possibilities exist for wine tours and tastings.

The immediate area is also perfect for hiking, cycling, horse-riding and canoeing and the Lac de Hostens (just 20 minutes away) offers swimming and windsurfing.

The sandy beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and the Arcachon Basin are an easy 1 hour’s drive away. You can swim, surf, take a boat ride or climb the largest sand dune in Europe where you will have an amazing and unforgettable view of the Basin!

Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the varied 18 hole golf course just outside the bustling town of Langon where weekly markets will tempt you with a wide variety of local specialities.

If you prefer less exerting exercise, you can take a leisurely barge trip down the Canal du Midi or treat yourself to the ultimate relaxation experience in the modern thermal complex in Casteljaloux (I hour away).

The region is also great for culture. The city of Bordeaux has undergone a recent facelift, revealing 18th century elegance and a fascinating medieval centre. Apart from one of the most beautiful opera houses in the country, the city boasts numerous museums and art galleries and also offers shopaholics the longest pedestrian shopping street in France.

The Sud Gironde and Entre Deux Mers regions are famous for their medieval castles and Bastide towns and the simple beauty of their Romanesque churches, all within easy reach of Budos.

Music and theatre fans will also be also spoilt for choice with a large number of quality festivals taking place throughout the year.
